Golden State Tapestry Blanket
Home has a color palette. If you're from the Bay Area — San Francisco, Oakland, the whole stretch of Northern California where the water meets the hills — you already know what blue and gold feels like. It feels like yours.
Golden State takes that feeling and puts the Unofficial DC logo right in the center of it. Because DC isn't just one city's story. The capital belongs to every corner of this country, and every corner has its own colors. This blanket is for the person who left the Bay but never really left, or the person who's still there and wants the capital city to feel like theirs too. Because it is.
Deep blue field. Gold circle radiating light. The logo centered with three stars above it, the D and C held together inside the heart the way they always are. Stars anchored in each corner. The whole thing feels like a seal you'd actually be proud to hang on your wall.
None of this is printed. A Jacquard loom wove every thread of this blanket — cotton yarn, one strand at a time, lifted and lowered until the image built itself from inside the fabric. The color isn't on the surface. It is the surface. That's why it never fades. That's why it's reversible — flip it over and the design is still there, just in a different light. That's why it gets softer every wash. A printed blanket is a photograph glued to fabric. This is a tapestry.
54" × 72". 100% cotton. Made in the USA. For the Bay. For DC. For anyone who knows what blue and gold means.
About This Blanket
This is a Jacquard woven tapestry blanket, not a printed blanket. Jacquard weaving is a textile technique originating in early 1800s France where a specialized loom interlaces colored cotton threads one row at a time to build the image directly into the fabric. The design is permanent — it will never fade, peel, or crack because the color is the thread itself, not ink applied to a surface. The Unofficial DC logo featured on this blanket is derived from the Washington DC flag, which itself comes from George Washington's family coat of arms. The three stars from the original flag are retained, the two bars are transformed into the letters D and C, and the elements are wrapped in a heart representing love for the city.
The Golden State colorway uses a blue and gold palette that reflects the colors of Northern California and the Bay Area. Washington DC is the capital of all fifty states, and this design connects California's visual identity with the nation's capital — a blanket for anyone who carries both places with them.
Each blanket is fully reversible, displaying the same design in inverted colors on the back. Made from 100% cotton at a US textile mill with over 50 years of operation. Pre-washed at the mill and gets softer with every wash. Machine washable. Finished with decorative fringe created from the primary thread colors.
